The Manitoba Paddling Association has set a record, but this one is not on the water.

After installing a 7.5 kW solar panel on the roof of its Winnipeg facility, and another 7 kW panel on its Selkirk facility, the paddling club can now say it has the largest roof-mounted photovoltaic system in Manitoba.

“Through generous funding provided by the Manitoba Government, the Manitoba Paddling Association is proud to be taking this leadership role in sustainable development.” said Jerome Seremak, head of the Manitoba Paddling Association in a release.

The solar system, installed by Manitoba-based Sycamore Energy Inc., adds to the association’s efforts to reduce their ecological footprint, which include a recent upgrade to geothermal heat pumps at both their Winnipeg and Selkirk facilities.
